Get to Know Steve La Motte
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 34 years now. In fact, my wife was with me 35 years ago when I was attending college for photography and she has been by my side as I re-entered the digital age of photography about 5 years ago. Over the years, my wife and I have raised 3 beautiful and successful boys and over the last few years we have accepted into our family 2 wonderful, beautiful and loving daughter-in-laws. We are also owned by 3 rescued Italian Greyhounds. Abby, Mia and our newest addition Dexter. My favorite photography includes Professional Head Shots, Landscape Fine Art Prints, Engagement Portraits, Fashion and Pet Photography.
My favorite light is "natural light" some photographers call it "Gods light" To be honest there is no artificial light that can match the beauty of natural light! Artificial light in many cases is a necessary light source and i know when to introduce it. Combining natural light with artificial light is another a creative way to light my subjects that produces amazing results.
I attended such schools as UCI and Orange Coast College and I offer all types of photography with my professional level Nikon gear. My favorite saying is "Your World Through My Lens" My favorite photographer is Ansel Adams. Today's photographic environment has definitely changed from when I studied at UCI but the art of composition has not. The composition of a photograph has to be something inside you and not learned in a classroom and that is what makes the difference between an average photographer and a successful photographer. Whether it's the lighting for an actors headshot or the right time of day to get the perfect light for an engagement shoot or being patient with your pets waiting for the right moment the get that great shot, I am up to the challenge.
